Overall Role Purpose
Reporting to the Sales Manager - Ocean BULK, the Business Development Manager is a customer focused role with responsibility to develop the required sales objectives. Key responsibilities include;
- Identify opportunities and deploy products and services available within Ocean BULK
- Ensure Business Development performance to ensure defined targets are achieved
- Making sales calls and providing updates and status on sales development plans
- Liaising promptly with customers
- Account review and maintenance
- Provide analysis of the sales performance against agreed targets
- In conjunction with Sales Manager assist with setting budgets and targets
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of company's products and services
- Maintain market and competitive knowledge
- Represent DHL Ocean BULK to customers
Skills / Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge & experience of the Bulk Liquid Market and Chemical industry.
- Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Customer focused with strong commercial acumen
- Facilitates the development of others through coaching, mentoring and fosters a culture of learning, growth and development
- Be result driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work closely with Operations and Technical teams
- A high degree of reliability and attention to detail
- Be results driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and sound administration skills
