Our story

There are some big, juicy problems in property management that need to be solved. In the time it takes you to read this job ad, 21 tenants will be approved for a rental property, giving property owners, new tenants, and property managers new relationships to manage. How do we make this experience not only frictionless, but fun, for everyone?

Kolmeo's mission is to revolutionise the way people think about renting, owning and managing property, and really listen to our customers and their needs - better streamlining of payments between tenants and owners, automating the day-to-day time consuming stuff, and saving property managers time.

With more than 15 years of adventures in prop-tech, Kolmeo gives real estate agencies around Australia the right tools and technology to perfectly balance the tenant, owner, and property manager relationship. In fact, we used to BE the customer - a prop-tech company born out of property management - so we intimately understand their joys and sorrows (and our customers are at the heart of everything we do).

So what’s the gig?

Kolmeo is on the hunt for a sales-hungry Business Development Manager (QLD & NT) to work closely with the Executive Manager Industry & Partnerships to unearth, build and nurture new relationships with prospective real estate agencies across QLD & NT and bring them onto Kolmeo to grow our customer base.

Our BDM's will be able to demonstrate and explain how our Kolmeo platform can help solve problems for property managers, owners and renters, and also how Kolmeo assists in reducing operating costs and increasing revenue, all while providing an excellent user experience. Kolmeo's BDM's are passionate about solving problems for our customers, and they proactively bring in market insight/feedback regarding product and improvement prioritization, so that we can continually hit the mark on what we offer our customers.

A day in the life of a Kolmeo Business Development Manager:

  • Contribute to building the Kolmeo pipeline of prospective clients by thinking creatively, tapping into your networks, and leaving no stone unturned (including generating your own leads and converting Kolmeo-generated leads)
  • Foster and nurture your client relationships with a sensitivity to the unique needs of a residential property manager
  • Conduct remote & in-person demonstrations of the Kolmeo software using your strongly developed understanding of our product
  • Strategically attend networking events, actively rubbing shoulders with industry contacts to promote Kolmeo
  • Travel to various property management agencies to get some face time with key decision makers at small, medium and large-scale agencies
  • Dial into internal meetings to share your market insights, influence our project planning, and report on your sales target results
  • Provide outstanding customer service to newly acquired clients to ensure client retention is as high as possible.

To hit this job out of the park:

  • You must have previous residential rental property management experience or intimately understand that domain
  • Ideally you've had some previous sales or BDM experience in the real estate domain
  • Ideally you have experience selling SaaS tech (very highly regarded!)
  • You're a strong self-starter with a hunger for the hustle to drum up new business opportunities with high confidence
  • You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • You have previously demonstrated experience in client relationship management
  • You're heavily results-driven, and strive to constantly develop your sales skills with support from our Kolmeo leaders
  • You have strongly demonstrated planning and prioritization skills
  • You have proven ability to perform detailed analysis and evaluation of the sales landscape, including reporting
  • You have a high degree of flexibility for travel, including occasional interstate trips.
