ECLIPS Logistics is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Managing Director and supported by the General Manager and technical teams, you will be responsible for the delivery of existing capture plans and the development of new opportunities linked to a detailed growth strategy. You must be a practical hands-on technical sales professional who knows how to create and close deals. We are a small team of professionals where everyone works collaboratively, results are easy to measure!
Your time will not be wasted on big-business internal politics and unnecessary governance however you will be expected to be doing more than bringing an opportunity to the business.
You must be able to author, coordinate and close technical deals. Ex defence members will be viewed favourably.

The Role
This is a strategic hire for the business. You will be expected to be an expert in business growth and the implementation of strategic direction to keep the pipeline of opportunity full. You will be trained in business procedures and mentored in the role with some external training available to the right candidate. There is considerable room for advancement over the next five to ten years.
Previous demonstrated experience in a Sales and Marketing position growing a technology company will set you apart.
Reporting to the Managing Director and supported by the General Manager and technical teams, you will be responsible for the delivery of existing capture plans and the development of new opportunities linked to a detailed growth strategy.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end sales process within ECLIPS Logistics with opportunities for advancement and promotion.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Defence technical sales professional. You should be a business builder and someone who is adaptive and who can lead new and innovative approaches to market. The successful candidate will ideally have a technical background in pre-sales engineering, ASDEFCON proposal management experience, experience scaling a software business and Marketing for growth.
You must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment that respects process but is focused on outcomes. You will need to think and act like an owner in the best interests of the company supporting rapid growth and product scaling whilst asking “so what, where is our next opportunity, how do I get to yes?”
ESSENTIAL attributes our Business Development Manager must possess include:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, or relevant experience and demonstrated performance in Business Development, Sales and Marketing.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian Department of Defence procurement processes.
- Experience in responding to ASDEFCON and prime contractor tenders.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- A robust network within Defence and Defence industry, with established relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.
DESIRABLE attributes that our successful applicant should demonstrate include:
- A Defence background in Logistics, with experience in the supply chain at the tactical, operational and strategic level.
- Proven experience as a bids and proposal manager in the Defence Industry.
- Background in or knowledge of Defence industry and willingness to work in the Defence Industry.
- Experience marketing and selling into the United States of America or other international market.
- Experience with rebranding and Marketing for growth.
- Proficiency in developing and executing social media strategies.
