Form of workNovaCina is a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) that specialises in sterile injectable products, including clinical trials. We are looking for a Business Development Specialist who can identify and pursue new opportunities for our services in Australia and internationally, especially in the USA.
About You!
You'll be an ideal candidate if you possess:
- a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry,
- a good understanding of the research and development incentives for international companies to operate in Australia, and
- excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- The role will involve frequent travel between the eastern states of Australia, our home base in Perth, and the USA.
As a Business Development Specialist you will report to, receive coaching and mentoring from the head of Business Development, who is based in San Diego. This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers a competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential clients and partners for NovaCina's CDMO services, especially in the USA and Australia.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and contracts that showcase NovaCina's capabilities and value proposition.
- Negotiate and close deals that meet or exceed NovaCina's revenue and profitability targets.
- Provide feedback and market intelligence to the head of Business Development and the management team.
- Represent NovaCina at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Travel frequently within Australia and internationally, as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as pharmacy, chemistry, biology, or business administration.
- At least 3 years of experience in Business Development, sales, or marketing in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the CDMO market and the clinical trial process.
- Familiarity with the research and development incentives for international companies to operate in Australia, particularly with respect to clinical trial manufacture.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and cultures.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
