About the business unit
Situated within Queensland Operations division, the Regional Network unit is responsible for playing a key role in enabling TIQ to achieve its objectives in line with TIQ Strategic and Business Plans. The Regional Network is the peak unit for marketing and promotion of the State's regional resources. Distributed across eight regional centres throughout Queensland, the team contributes to the economic growth within Queensland by assisting local businesses to develop and extend exports, as well as increasing the number of investment ready projects across the regions.

Your contribution (key responsibilities and accountabilities)
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Experience gathering and integrating First Nations aspirations, cultural protocols and knowledge into project planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop and foster effective relationships with key First Nations business councils and stakeholder groups and across local, state and federal agencies, and industry to continue to build commitment to long term support and growth opportunities for Frist Nations business.
  • Lead and influence key stakeholders to develop industry and market development opportunities for First Nations business, by providing high quality specialist advice to assist Queensland companies succeed in export markets.
  • Provide practical export advice to businesses using your own experience and the networks available to you.
  • Working across TIQ's sectors, regional network and sectors, research and analyse export (business and industry) opportunities, identifying niche markets across globally, developing planning activities and strategies to deliver on regional and state-wide trade and investment priorities.
  • Support attracting productive foreign direct investment in First Nations business and facilitate productive relationships for First Nations related investment opportunities in Queensland based projects.
  • Represent TIQ on inter-departmental, national and industry committees and present and participate in key government and business forums to identify investment and export First Nations business opportunities.
  • Liaise with TIQ's overseas and Brisbane-based stakeholders to examine the supply and demand for various products and services in other countries and major regions to identify trade and investment opportunities for First Nations business.
  • Provide and update opportunity-specific information using TIQ's CRM and other protocols to enable effective delivery of TIQ's programs, initiatives and services, and regularly reporting business outcomes to senior management.
  • Prepare policy papers, briefs and reports regarding investment and export opportunities, including potential issues and concern for Queensland's First Nations exporters. Provide recommended solutions to proactively resolve arising matters.
