Purpose of the Position
The Business Partner - People and Culture will help align our People and Culture operations with the business strategic priorities. The BP will be a people champion, a change agent and a partner for the business across the full employment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Collaborate cross-functionally on implementing innovative and inclusive recruitment strategies
- Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviewing, selection processes and full onboarding
- Collaborate cross-functional to enable the offboarding process.
Learning and Development
- Reskilling and upskilling by identifying training needs and in aligning training programs with business objectives
- Facilitate training sessions on policies, safety, diversity, and inclusion
PCS Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and update policies accordingly.
Employee Relations:
- Address employee concerns and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations and ensure fair and consistent application of policies.
Performance Management:
- Administer performance appraisal processes and provide guidance to managers.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
- Conducting day-to-day performance management guidance to line managers (for example mentoring, career planning, coaching, etc.)
- Succession planning: select and develop key talent to ensure there are talents to fill in critical roles
Coaching and consulting leadership about PCS matters:
- Helping line managers deal with change-related matters
- Conduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings with business leaders and provide PCS advice where necessary
- Be up-to-date on employment laws and regulations, as well as other legal requirements regarding people management, to help leaders ensure compliance
- Provide guidance on the creation and implementation of PCS processes and policies
Company culture and employee experience champion:
- Provide advice and suggestions for culture-related initiatives, such as cultural transformation
- Implement interventions on employee wellness, diversity and inclusion, or talent management
- Working together with management and personnel to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover
Other special projects such as system implementation and initiatives.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Proven end-to-end People and Culture experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state labour laws, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Manufacturing or heavy industry experience may be advantageous.
