The team
ASIC's Markets Enforcement team conducts investigation and enforcement actions pertaining to markets matters. They investigate suspected market misconduct such as continuous disclosure breaches, insider trading, market manipulation, licensing obligations and misconduct by Retail OTC issuers.
ASIC's Enforcement and Compliance Group (ECG) is responsible for the conduct of ASIC's initial inquiries, compliance and enforcement work across all sectors, excluding markets. The ECG comprises a number of teams, including Investigation and Enforcement Action Teams.
The role
As a Business Support Officer, you will be accountable for providing general administrative support to the investigation teams. You will also be accountable for:
- Undertaking a range of support activities that assist the efficient delivery of enforcement outcomes, including reporting and data entry, scheduling meeting an meeting minutes, preparing electronic an hard copy folders of document and co-ordinating with other teams within ASIC
- assisting on priority and major matters, providing operational and administrative support
- providing financial administration for projects including being responsible for high volume/low value procurement of goods and services as requested
- providing procurement support for external services such as counsel, transcription, and process servers, including liaising with ASIC's Procurement team
- supporting the team by collating information for financial forecasting and accruals management
- identifying issues and their possible causes and solutions, and where appropriate seeking advice or escalating.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency across a variety of software applications, such as Microsoft products (including Excel) and databases (e.g. CRM/SharePoint)
- Planning and organising skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet timeframes
- Attention to detail and ability to consistently and accurately complete sometimes complex stakeholder queries
- Ability to work proactively and collaboratively
- Problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
