The Client:
The City of Yarra Council has approximately $200 million annual operating budget and employs around 900 equivalent full-time staff. Across the 5 Divisions of Council, there is a wide and varied range of services for both internal and external customers.
Council has committed to undertaking a program of service reviews across the organisation to ensure that Council services achieve value for money, are financially sustainable and responsive to a growing and changing Yarra community.
The Business Transformation branch will drive the future program of service reviews and other organisational improvement priorities. These priorities will include business model evaluation, process improvements, program evaluations, feasibility studies and building staff capacities and skills in business improvement.
The Role:
The position will lead one of the two Business Transformation Units in the Business Transformation Branch and is responsible for providing expert advice, support, and facilitation in the completion of Business Transformation projects and activities.
This Business Transformation Unit is responsible for designing, facilitating, and leading Business Transformation efforts across the whole organisation and according to the priorities of the community and executive team.
Responsibilities: (but not limited to)
- Lead and manage a portfolio of Service Review and Business Improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines for transformation initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project implementation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and engage them in the transformation process.
- Provide leadership and support to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, methodologies, and frameworks for successful Business Transformations.
- Local Government experience preferred
- Previous experience with Business Transformation, Service Improvement or Business Improvement projects
- Proven leadership abilities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Business Improvement methodologies (i.e. PMP, CCMP, Lean six sigma, Prince2, etc)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
