A bit about the role
This newly created role within our Corporate Services Directorate is an exciting chance for the right person to drive excellence, encourage innovation and ensure that Wyndham City Council is prepared for the introduction and development of a new Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS).
In this role, you will utilise your comprehensive knowledge of records management principles, including classification, retention, and disposition, to guide system changes and provide guidance on the integration of records management functionalities into new systems and technologies.

You will also:
- Analyse systems and processes to identify improvements that create an improved future state.
- Ensure adherence to records retention schedules, legal/regulatory requirements, and organizational policies during system transition
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate Records and Information Management strategies, systems, policies, procedures and services
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business units, IT departments, legal/compliance teams, and external vendors
- Develop, promote, and implement change management risk mitigation plans and communication strategies to adequately prepare-Council for change barriers, issues and risks associated with the introduction and implementation of a new document Management System
- Identify opportunities to enhance records management processes, technologies, and workflows through system changes
What you will bring
- Degree or diploma course in Information Management, Library Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (highly desirable)
- Proven experience leading technology implementation software, preferably in a records-intensive environment
- Proven experience in system change leadership, preferably in a records-intensive environment
- Extensive experience in the administration of a corporate records/Information Management System in local government sector or large organisation
- Project management skills and experience, providing specialist consultancy within complex system implementation projects
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
