The historic Eyre Hotel in Whyalla offers a front bar, family bistro dining, early breakfast, an all-weather beer garden, and hotel accommodation. Serving the community as part of Matthews Hospitality for over 60 years, the Eyre Hotel is a hotel packed with personality. THE JOB
We are seeking a passionate, food-loving, and customer-focused Pantry Manager to join our leadership team on a full-time basis. Working alongside the Head Chef and reporting to the Venue Manager, you will enjoy a dynamic and responsible role. Working closely with other Managers in Gaming, Bar, and Accommodation you will continue to push the venue to greater success!
- Daily management of cafe/pantry operations
- Delivering superior, prompt, and consistent service to all customers
- Managing all customer interactions with the utmost professionalism
- Excellent knowledge of and ability to execute quality coffee
- Upholding and maintaining the highest standard of restaurant presentation
- Superior planning and execution of promotional activities, functions, and events.
- Recruitment, training, development, and performance management of your team
- Implementation of sales and marketing strategies to support the growth and success of the Pantry
- Ability to roster well and achieve required wage budgets through effective rostering and KPI's without impacting the quality of food, service, or hygiene
- Effective stock management, control, and required reporting
You will have a friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality, with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills. You must also have a passion for customer service, with the ability to lead by example and motivate staff to perform to the best of their abilities.
Able to work up to 45 hours per week and start at 6 am most days over a 7-day roster is required including Public Holidays. Occasional evening work for functions and events.
- Proven experience and leadership skills in managing effective teams across food and beverage service
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, mentoring, and time management skills
- Professional and approachable personality
- A hands-on leadership style and team player attitude
- Ability to accept significant levels of responsibility and accountability
- Extensive knowledge and interest in food, wine, spirit, and beers
- Coffee knowledge and experience as a Barista
- Ability to train, develop, and motivate your team in a positive and energetic manner
- Strong decision-making skills with an understanding of strategic business issues and enthusiasm to learn
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (Essential)
- First Aid (Preferred)
