Job description

  • Fixed-Term Full-Time position until 4th October 2024
  • $108,869.42 per annum + 11% superannuation (pro rata)

About the opportunity

As the Campaign Communications Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the QNMU to achieve strategic goals through effective communications planning and delivery. Whilst you will be primarily focused on the QNMU’s major campaigns and organising activities, your creativity and attention to detail will  be essential in crafting a broad range of compelling communication content that informs, engages and activates our members.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • campaign planning and implementation 
  • reactive and unplanned communications activity 
  • communications analysis and reporting
  • general communications tasks – writing, proofreading, basic layout and practical production of print and electronic communications.

This position is a temporary full-time position until 4 October 2024.  We will require the successful candidate to be able to commence employment with us as soon as possible, but no later than Monday 25th March 2024.

About You

To succeed in this role you will possess the following:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or a communication related field with prior experience in a similar role or industry. 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet operational targets through branded communications. 
  • Demonstrated high-level writing and editing skills suitable for publication. 
  • Demonstrated sound skills in layout/production of print materials. 
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in website maintenance and updating as well as email management platforms.
  • Skills in online campaigning tools and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and take a collaborative approach to work. 
  • Demonstrated commitment QNMU’s values, purpose and trade unionism in general.
