The opportunity:
We are sourcing a Capability and Development Manager to contribute to the design and delivery of the Leadership Capability Development strategy and goals for AIA Australia. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Leadership Capability and Development you will bring your creative flair to the enhance the delivery and execution of learning and development solutions for our employees. This opportunity can be based in either our Melbourne or Sydney office.
To do this successfully you will:

  • Partner with the key stakeholders to understand business priorities
  • Identify and diagnose areas of need; propose development and capability-based solutions and be responsible for the successful delivery of agreed solutions
  • Prepare and redesign training videotapes, animations, slides and films and maintain a library of these training aids
  • Work with Group Office to ensure AIA Australia’s needs are communicated and that AIA-wide programs and materials are incorporated into the overall capability and development offering
  • Design, deliver and implement appropriate learning and development solutions for AIA employees
  • Benchmark competitors’ training programs and develop performance measures for evaluating training programs
  • Ensure effective coordination of training needs analysis and delivery methods with business partners
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences and workshops
  • Supervise team-based training programs as required
Successful applications will demonstrate:
  • Proven experience working within Learning and Development and Instructional design
  • Previous experience creating animations, video recording, e-learning and other digital training material highly desirable
  • The ability to continuously improve our capability and development offerings
  • Strong commercial foresight and the ability to understand business plans and priorities and align them with appropriate development and capability solutions
  • The ability to work effectively, influence and engage at all levels within the business
  • Prior experience in facilitating groups, moderation, and classroom delivery of learning and development programs at a range of levels
  • High level of project management skills and change management skills in order to optimally plan, implement and embed a range of capability and development programs
