As the Capability Development Business Partner, you will be accountable for designing, implementing, and continuously improving strategies, frameworks, tools and learning programs to build workforce capability and a talent pipeline to enable GS1 Australia to achieve our strategic goals. The role will help to drive our culture and strengthen employee engagement and our employee value proposition by supporting our people to learn, grow, and excel in their professional journey.
The role
Supporting an employee base of approximately 200, this opportunity within our collaborative People, Capability & Culture team will see you operating across the whole organisation to:
- Design and implement a talent and career growth strategy which includes a cyclic approach for talent identification, assessment, and development; coaching managers to co-own the process
- Develop succession and transition plans and skills and knowledge capture, retention and transfer processes; coaching managers to co-own the process
- Implement GS1 Australia’s Leadership Capability Framework and associated tools and design and deliver leadership experiences that drive growth and development, ensuring GS1 has the leadership capability to deliver on the strategy
- Develop and support the implementation of competency frameworks / skills matrices to enable skills profiling and assessment
- Partner with the business to identify organisation-wide, team and individual learning and development needs and recommend, design and deliver solutions to address skills and knowledge gaps
- Curate, review, design, and deliver eLearning and instructor-led training and content through the Learning Management System (LMS); review and maintain content and supporting materials
- Provide ongoing measurement of impact and effectiveness of learning and Capability Development initiatives
- Support the broader People, Capability & Culture team in the development and continuous improvement of graduate program, alumni program, staff onboarding/crossboarding programs, and other talent acquisition programs as they relate to talent management
About you
This role is suited to a highly experienced learning and development specialist, looking to make a big impact on workforce capability and strategic objectives. You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (and/or relevant certification/experience) in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Organisational Psychology, or related field
- Experience in diagnosing, designing, delivering and evaluating workforce and leadership capability and effective learning solutions incorporating adult learning principles with strong training, facilitation and presentation skills
- Familiarity with learning management systems and eLearning authoring tools (desirable)
- Experience developing succession plans including knowledge capture and transfer processes
- Coaching, mentoring and leadership development skills
- Skills and competency frameworks and mapping experience (desirable)
- Digitally literate with proficiency in MS Office
- Strong strategic thinking, innovation and problem solving skills
- Extensive consulting skills across diverse stakeholders with the ability to foster trusting relationships with collaborative solution design
- Team focused with the ability to work autonomously
