Job Description:
The Capital Improvement Project Manager will oversee and manage the planning, design, and execution of capital Improvement Projects within The Yard Brisbane Marine Park. The role involves coordinating with contractors, consultants, government bodies and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a keen understanding of construction and engineering principles, and a proven ability to manage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Development:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Project Execution:
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Publish regular schedule updates and manage work completion certificates and compliance documentation
- Implement and oversee quality assurance and quality control processes including regular site inspections and audits
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and community organizations.
- Prepare and present regular project updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Financial Management:
- Measure and manage costs and budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Approve and track expenditures, invoices, and financial reports.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, meeting minutes, and progress reports.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for project approvals and permits.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and document lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on capital improvements or construction projects.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering concepts, construction, planning, and public works operations.
- Experience in planning, development, and managing capital Improvement Projects.
- Strong supervisory skills for managing construction management and inspection.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or suitable engineering certification or equivalent certification is preferred.
