About the Role:
The Carbon Outreach Officer is responsible for delivering training and advice to empower Limestone Coast region farmers and land managers, including First Nations peoples, to participate in carbon markets and integrate low emission technologies and practices into their farming operations and land management practices.
The Carbon Outreach Officer will empower land managers across the Limestone Coast to understand and adopt carbon farming and low emissions technologies and practices.
The Carbon Outreach Officer will work closely with farmers, land managers, farming systems groups, agri-business, industry bodies and agencies to facilitate and implement workshops, events and activities that promote carbon farming outcomes and opportunities that align with Limestone Coast (LC) Landscape Board, South Australian and Australian government objectives for sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.

Contract:
This is a part time position, working 18.75 hours per week (0.5FTE) until 31 March 2026.
Esssential Qualifications:
A Degree in agricultural or environmental science, natural resource management or equivalent.
Special Conditions:

• Position is based in the Limestone Coast region with actual location to be negotiated
• A current minimum class C driver’s licence and willingness to drive is required
• Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory criminal history check
• Will have the opportunity to participate in fire management or associated duties
• Some out of hours work and intrastate travel involving overnight absences from home may be required
• Required to participate in the LC Landscape Board’s Performance Development and Review Program

Remuneration:
PO2 $86,950 - $96,223 max p.a., pro rata for part time hours.
