Your part in our UnitingCare Community team

UnitingCare are seeking someone to complement our existing team and support us with our work to support families with children experiencing homelessness. 

The position offered is fulltime and Max term until 30th June 2025 with the possibility of extension beyond this date and is based in Labrador, Gold Coast.

The applicant will have experience working with people experiencing homelessness, including rough sleepers. They will be competent in identifying and understanding risks posed to children, as well as how to respond to effectively safeguard children.  They will be able to work autonomously as well as participate in and contribute to an established team of professionals.  

What makes a difference for us?  

Ideally you have 2 years experience of paid or volunteer work with people experiencing homelessness and a subsequent sound understanding of the contributing factors of homelessness. You must have excellent verbal communication skills that enable you to assess needs accurately and extensively as well as transferable written communication skills to record assessments on the database. You must have a tertiary qualification in human services, community services, Youth Services or related field. A basic level of competence with technology is also required.
