Are you a seasoned WHS and Wellbeing leader with a proven track record and a passion for influencing stakeholders? Do you possess extensive knowledge of workplace safety, risk management, workers' compensation, and Wellbeing initiatives? Can you translate complex requirements into clear and actionable insights for our diverse healthcare system?

At CCLHD, you won't just manage safety – you'll embed safety culture as everyone’s responsibility. You'll lead a team of passionate and dedicated WHS & Wellbeing professionals. Together, you'll spearhead the development of innovative educational programs, empowering leaders and teams to prioritise staff safety while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.

Become a part of our revitalised, innovative, and newly formed People & Culture leadership team. Where, you'll collaborate with like-minded, passionate leaders who are driving innovation and transformation within the People & Culture Directorate. Together, we'll invest in people and teams, to build a culture based on trust, collaboration & innovation.

An Eligibility List (E-List) or talent pool may be created from this recruitment episode to assist in filling future permanent, temporary, or casual full-time and part-time positions.

About You

  • A seasoned WHS professional with extensive leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing WHS and Wellbeing strategies with demonstrable results
  • Strong understanding of NSW Work Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching expertise to empower and motivate a team
  • Commitment to the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD's vision and objectives

About the Opportunity

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies that demonstrably enhance physical and psychological Safety and Wellbeing across the entire LHD
  • Foster a resilient and reliable safety culture, where safety is everyone's responsibility and compassionate behaviours are evident
  • Champion coaching and development initiatives to enable leaders to drive a safety mindset
  • Oversee the management of aggression, respiratory protection, staff health , and return-to-work programs
  • Foster good working relationships with with external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with NSW Health and government policies, mitigating potential risks and ensuring data-driven decision-making
  • Lead and mentor a WHS and Wellbeing team, driving quality and continuous improvement
