About the Role
We're currently seeking applications for the permanent part-time role ofCCS Family Support Workerto work within the Children’s Contact Service at our Rockhampton venue on the basis of 45 hours per fortnight.
The purpose of this position is to assist with the activities of the CCS, which helps facilitate contact arrangements, supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits, and provides a safe and secure environment for the children.
Tasks for this role include: facilitating contact arrangements, supporting children and their families during changeovers or supervised visits, providing a safe and secure environment for the children.
Other tasks:
- Appling theoretical models of supportive human interaction, developmental stages of children, conflict resolution, and other relevant frameworks.
- Undertaking assessment and intake processes, including parent interviews.
- Organising safe and appropriate activities for children to maximise parent/child.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS.
Hours of work will be negotiated with the successful applicant on offer, however given the operational hours of the CCS, you will be required to work every second weekend, attracting generous penalty rates.
The salary being offered is $81,368.45 to $95,092.19 per annum, pro rata, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in the social or behavioural sciences, with a focus on child development.
- Have demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and theoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development, abuse and/or neglect.
- Have experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.
- Knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or children’s contact issues is also required.
