Chef/ Cook

Melbourne Mirchi Indian Restaurant is looking for an experienced Chef and Cook to join our team.

Our restaurant is located in front of Footscray station. And opened for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As we had a very good reputation with Customer.

We are looking for Chef and Cook who has experience in Indian cuisine (curries and tandoori) and South Indian cuisine (dosa, idly, and biriyani) and with creative skills.

Visa sponsorship is available for candidates with the right qualifications along with a generous salary package $71,000 depending on experience.Looking for a full-time cook/chef, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Indian cuisine. Should be able to work on the weekends and holidays.

The job description includes:

-Prepare and cook food according to the menu

-Should have experience in Tandoor oven, Bulk Indian cooking curries for Ala carte menu.

- Proper seasoning of food during cooking according to restaurant standards.

- Plating and garnishing food prior to service

- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.

- Plan menus with management

- Estimate product requirement for the following day

- Coordinate with kitchen staff, supervise staff, and train staff if necessary

- Examining the quality of food on a daily basis

- Proper check and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and regular audits of

temperature-controlled facilities.

- Select and train kitchen staff

- Regulating temperatures on ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment in the kitchen.

-Proper cleaning of the kitchen all the time

- Report to the Owner/Director and Restaurant Manager
