THE ROLE:
To produce consistent and high-quality food using the best produce and finest ingredients at all times within a positive and educational culture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Service - Be responsible for the smooth flow of service from your section and make sure your section is hitting the standards set by the luxsmith kitchen.
2) Mise en Place and Stock control - Make sure that all mise en place is prepared to standard and in appropriate time. Keep an eye on stock levels and advise Head Chef of orders when needed. Prep lists are to be completed ready for next shift – especially in hand over shifts.
3) Accountability - Correctly record data for food safety records. Understand the roster and your responsibilities to be at work during these times.
4) Communication Communicate respectfully and professionally with all colleagues. Give clear directives where required in a timely manner. Contribute to a positive team spirit through constructive communication.
5) Teamwork - Support team members in their tasks where appropriate.
7) Resource Management - Make sure that you understand and follow all food handling and safety procedures. Make sure you understand and comply with cleaning rosters. Understand how to correctly handle chemicals for cleaning.
8) Productivity and Personal Development - Always contribute to a positive and efficient culture. Continually strive to understand the concepts that underline the restaurant’s philosophy and working culture.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- At least a relevant Diploma qualification plus two years of full-time post-qualification experience in the relevant position OR at least 3 years of experience in the relevant position
- Capacity to stay calm and perform immaculately under pressure
- A team player
- Completed HACCP and Food Safety and Hygiene training
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge and experience in a similar establishment is preferred and a willingness to learn is essential
- Experience with Asian cuisine will be highly advantageous
REMUNERATION AND WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:
- Salary range $65,000-75,000 (depending on experience)
