About the role
Multiple positions are available for Experienced Chef De Partie / Sous Chef to join our team. As the Chef, you will be an integral part of our business and work in the small kitchen team in day to day operation. The primary purpose of this role is to support in the daily trade of the high volume cooking by cooking and delivering Modern Australia Meals.
We are looking for Cooks as well.
Prepare and produce a wide variety of foods and plan seasonal menus.
Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
Responsible for orders and maintaining good stock and waste control.
Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of foods are of the highest quality at all times.
Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis.
Ensure that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions
Ensure the adequacy of supplies at cooking stations
Assist in the training of junior and apprentice chefs
Assist in any menu tasting preparations
Ensure that all wastage is kept under strict control
Ensure the hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, starting with the ingredients and ending with the finished dish which leaves the kitchen door;
Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to.

Time management - must estimate the necessary time needed for each dish, as well as the time spent by each employee when preparing different meals;
Good communication abilities;
Active listening and learning - understanding what others say, asking questions for an insight into the problem and gathering information for a solution are essential;
Attention to detail - essential that the dishes are perfect when they leave the kitchen. A meticulous eye will instantly see possible issues and will fix them;
