About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Chef to join the team at Uniting AgeWell Preston on a Fixed Term Contract starting ASAP to the 27th December 2024. Reporting into the Senior Chef, the focus of this role is to provide high quality, nutritious meals and exceptional service to our residents to enhance their daily lives.
This includes
- Planning, ordering and preparing meals in a way that will enhance the resident’s dining experience, in line with all specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
- Ensuring a high level of compliance with all food safety guidelines and HACCP procedures
- Develop meaningful relationships with residents and their families
- Work within a friendly, dedicated, professional environment with a team of passionate individuals
- The roster is: Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 5:30pm
About you
You are motivated, engaging and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.
This is the place for you if you
- Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Have experience in a commercial kitchen environment (Residential Aged Care desired)
- Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
- Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
- Thrive in leading a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
- Committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
Essentials for working in Aged Care
- A current Working With Children’s Check, NDIS Check, flu and 3 covid-19 vaccinations
- Have full Australian working rights and are able to pass a national police clearance
- Are willing to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church
