The Town of Claremont is a progressive local government that was established in 1898 for the picturesque riverside suburbs of Claremont and Swanbourne. The Town is seeking Manager of Community Safety who will further grow the Community Safety business unit and the Town's emergency management functions. The position will manage a team of 7 including Senior/Community Safety Officers, Parking Officers, administration staff and a casual workforce. Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Develop and oversee Community Safety education programs.
- Review and recommend options for improved parking management across the Town.
- Oversee the emergency management functions of the Town and act as Chief Fire Warden.
- Develop and manage the Community Safety Budget and prepare high quality reports.
- Make suggestions and manage change that contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of business unit.
- Provide technical advice to officers and stakeholders relation to Community Safety.
- Make suggestions and manage change that contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Directorate.
The successful candidate will have obtained a Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) ‘Part 1 & 2’ or equivalent qualification. The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of respect, integrity, quality communication and excellent customer service. They will have a demonstrated ability to provide regular, consistent communication to and from team members, to support a productive and effective Community Safety team and business unit.
This role includes a vehicle that can be utilised for private use.
