Coffee Lab ACTON (AC Lab Pty Ltd) & Home Brew (FB Lab Pty Ltd) located in two locations is fast paced café and restaurant serving quality coffee and food. We are open for breakfast/lunch one venue and both day and evening trade for the other venue.
We are seeking candidates for the following full-time positions:
Sous Chef
About the role:
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our team for the full-time position. The Sous Chef will be expected to work flexible hours from Monday to Sunday.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the head chef in all the duties such as the supervision of the kitchen, food preparation and cooking.
- Training new kitchen staff, menu/ recipe creation by suggesting new dishes and ingredients based on trends, seasonality, and customer preferences.
- Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations adhering to food safety and hygiene systems.
- Managing inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
- Ability to produce high-quality foods and deliver quality work.
- Ability to address any issues or challenges that arise in the kitchen including equipment malfunctions or staffing shortages.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced culinary environment.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- High level of understanding and commitment to Food safety and hygiene practices.
- Passion for providing our customers with exceptional cuisine and service.

Head Chef:
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: To be negotiated depending on the candidate. Must have minimum 5 years experience
Roles and Responsibilities: Manage & supervision of the kitchen, Ordering and Supplier management, Create operational procedures and systems for the kitchen,
menu/ recipe creation, implementing food safety and hygiene systems.
Head barista and Senior Baristas:
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $68,000-$75,000/PA excluding Super . Head barista must have minimum 5 years experience,
Roles and Responsibilities: Manage the Coffee Side of the business, Quality Control, Stock Control, staff training and must have strong focus on outstanding customer service.
