Trillion Trees Australia Inc. has been bringing people together to plant trees, reconnect with nature and foster a long-term appreciation of the value of trees for communities since 1979. Each year thousands of volunteers help us grow and plant trees towards regeneration of the landscape and create a vibrant environment for future generations. Trillion Trees is an incorporated association and registered charity based in Hazelmere, WA.
To build upon 45 years of Australian planting projects we have an opportunity for an experienced leader to join us in the role of Chief Executive Officer.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the development and delivery of Trillion Trees’ vision and strategy, at a unique time in the organisation’s 40-plus year history as the organisation moves into the next phase of its growth. Reporting to an active and committed Board, the CEO will be an empathetic and strategic leader, an effective communicator and persuasive fundraiser, with the networks and capacity to deliver on Trillion Trees’ goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fundraising – Lead the development of donor relationships from new donor through to maximising existing donor opportunities.
- Managing staff and volunteers – provide leadership and direction for employee base and a large network of volunteers to engender a productive and inclusive working environment.
- Building partnerships and community – continue to develop existing partnerships and creation of new opportunities with community engagement sector, business, and government.
- Strategic planning and delivery – design effective strategies to create impact and further develop and deliver on our strategic plan.
- Planning – develop and implement a plan (organisational & business) to deliver on our mission, with clear goals and KPIs.
- Leading, managing and growing a non-profit – ensure the organisation is set up for achieving growth targets set out in the strategic plan. Effective general management and compliance with a focus on budget and financial monitoring.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the following core competencies:
- Fundraising in a growing variety of revenue streams including with major donors, grant writing and digital fundraising. This includes stakeholder management to maximise fundraising opportunities.
- Interpretation of all financial reports and be fully experienced in the budget process. Budget to actual variances will be acted on with priority.
- Skilled internal and external relationship building, while managing stakeholder engagement with donors, employees and volunteers.
- Previous experience and track record in leadership roles including leading and managing diverse teams.
- Strategic and forward-thinking identifying creative ways to solve problems. You are comfortable taking calculated risks in pursuit of impact.
- Skilled written and verbal communicator, able to inspire others and communicate effectively with a diverse audience of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated passion for the value of trees and are driven and enthusiastic about the vital role that trees play in the environment and community.
- You have experience working with diverse communities and embrace the positive value of differences in others.
HOURS, LOCATION AND SALARY
The current opportunity is a full-time engagement, however, for the right candidate we would consider a part-time engagement if the candidate can demonstrate this can be effective.
The role is based at the Trillion Trees administration building alongside our nursery in Hazelmere and there would be a requirement for visibility and engagement with staff and volunteers onsite.
Salary up to $130,000 plus superannuation and incentives to be negotiated.
