Job description
SES-2 Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Early Learning Victoria (ELV)
The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres (ELCCs). These centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and, where applicable, Pre-Prep.
Where possible, these low-fee centres will be co-located with schools to avoid the double-drop off, and alongside hospitals, TAFEs and major employers to create convenient access for working parents. In some cases, they may be co-located with services like maternal and child health services and playgroups.
The first four will open in 2025, with all 50 open by 2028. To ensure the children and families using these centres experience a high quality service, planning is currently underway.
The role of CEO ELV is tasked with establishing and operating the 50 Government ELCCs program across Victoria.
The CEO ELV will work collaboratively across the Department, with local governments and with the sector to deliver the 50 Government ELCCs, to undertake local service operations and monitoring, support the ongoing supply of early childhood teachers and educators and support the delivery of infrastructure projects, as necessary to ensure the success of these ELCCs. The CEO ELV will provide strategic direction, leadership and operational responsibility for the 50 Government ELCCs, in partnership with other Department of Education Groups including the Victorian School Building Authority (as lead on infrastructure provision).
