Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Executive Leadership team, this newly redefined Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for delivering strong leadership that will bring an enhanced commercial focus to strategic business decisions and financial outcomes critical to the Fund’s long-term success.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to a strong and highly collaborative executive team.
- Lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s financial strategy, financial management and financial reporting processes.
- Develop and implement the Fund’s tax governance framework.
- Lead the review of the organisation’s budgeting processes while also being accountable for the overall finances, including financial forecasting, financial risk management, and long-term financial sustainability.
- Lead the investment operations team including oversight of the Fund’s custodians.
- Lead the oversight of the Fund’s actuarial processes
- Drive the development of an enhanced procurement and vendor management capability to ensure the Fund complies with its regulatory obligations and drives sound commercial outcomes for our members and government stakeholders.
- Responsible for Management’s reporting to the Executive and quality reporting to the Board’s Finance & External Audit Committee and the Board.
- Drive high levels of employee engagement with organisational culture in line with the fund’s values
To be successful in this position, you will have
- Highly developed commercial acumen with a track record of successfully developing and improving a finance team and function.
- Strong people leadership experience to manage and lead a diverse team with different areas of functional expertise and develop a high-performing team.
- Highly developed stakeholder and vendor management experience with the ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders to translate initiatives into sustainable business results.
- strong cultural alignment with business culture and organisational values, including a member-first mindset
- Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, business or the like, as well as professional certification, i.e. CPA, CA.
- The ability to initiate and drive change that aligns innovative ideas and approaches with the fund’s strategic goals.
- Strong stakeholder management to articulate the strategy and get stakeholders on board and engaged.
