Xtreme Engineering is a local Gladstone Company that continues to grow with a current workforce specialising in all aspects of construction, fabrication, installation, maintenance, erection, onshore and offshore construction, demolition projects, shutdowns and maintenance services.

As we continue to grow our Client base in Gladstone, throughout Central Queensland within the state and around Australia, our team has significantly expanded, and we are seeking a suitable qualified Financial Accountant with financial acumen to join our Leadership team.  In this newly created position, you will head a financial team reporting directly to the General Manager.  You will be a professional with a demonstrated track record of driving change, creating enhanced value in a dynamic business environment and be effective in leading an engaged team to deliver quality outcomes.  You will like variety, managing multiple priorities and working at a fast pace.

 About the Role

• Permanent Full-Time Position
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, overseeing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
• Manage the accounting and tax functions of the business.
• Monitor budget performance throughout the year of the business as a whole and individual jobs. 
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, and drive profitability.
• Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, external Accountants and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
• Provide regular financial reports to the Leadership team.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CA) preferred.
• Proven experience as a Finance Controller or in a similar senior finance role. Industry experience preferred but not essential.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. 
• Experience in team management and development.
• Capable of assisting in the leadership of the business as it continues its growth.
• Familiarity with financial software and systems, MYOB Advanced preferred
