About the Role:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will play a crucial role in delivering Goodstart’s ongoing IT Services while also driving digital transformation initiatives that align with the organisation’s strategic goals. The CIO will possess extensive experience in the technical/operational aspects of IT, use a strategic approach to drive innovation, and leverage emerging technologies and architectures to support current and future business needs.
The role will focus on:
IT Operations: Oversee and enhance IT systems, infrastructure, and processes to ensure reliability, scalability, and timely performance for current and future business needs working closely with internal business stakeholders.
IT Strategy: Collaborate with Senior Leadership to define IT requirements for new technology implementations and develop strategic initiatives that align with Goodstart’s business objectives.
Program Delivery & Change Management: Manage large-scale projects in a distributed workforce, using proactive mitigation strategies. Drive change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies and implement innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve performance.
Leadership & Team Development: Lead and manage the IT team, fostering continuous improvement and innovation, as well as driving a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and promoting collaboration.
Financial Management: Manage the IT budget, ensuring adherence to approved operating and capital expenditure forecasts and recommend strategic IT investments aligned to strategy.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Negotiate and manage vendor contracts ensuring they deliver high quality service that adds to Goodstart’s overall IT effectiveness and efficiency.
Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with the Senior Leadership team and all internal stakeholders to gain operational and business perspectives, challenges, and needs that will inform IT strategy, services, and priorities.
About You:
We are seeking a CIO who has a track record of working in geographically dispersed organisations of similar size to Goodstart. We are also looking for someone who is passionate about this sector as Goodstart have a strong culture of undertaking purpose-driven activities:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with substantial experience in IT or equivalent.
- Clear focus on supporting internal business stakeholders to deliver day to day business requirements and services.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing large-scale projects and initiatives within a nationally distributed workforce.
- Significant experience as a CIO or equivalent in a similar-sized, distributed organisation with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of the Early Learning sector or similar, with alignment to not-for-profit operations.
- Innovative approach to business challenges with resilience.
- Exceptional leadership skills to drive high performance and engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and managing change effectively.
