Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role
As Chief Information Officer you will hold a strategic leadership position on a landmark project that will redefine transport in Brisbane. As part of the executive leadership team you will be responsible for the provision of Information Management and Technology services to the Delivery Authority.
Working in a fast paced and dynamic project delivery environment you will be accountable for formulating technology strategies and roadmaps, implementing information management governance, innovative technology and digital engineering solutions, integrated reporting/data visualisation tools and safeguarding digital assets and records. With a continuous improvement mindset you will be a driving force behind optimising IT operations, enhancing cyber security and leveraging emerging technologies to drive efficiency, compliance and collaboration to bridge technology and business.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you will lead a diverse technology portfolio consisting of three teams:
- Specialised Service & Solutions –‘Data and Reporting’, ‘Document Control’ and ‘Digital Services’ which includes digital engineering technologies such as Building Information Management (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and 3D visualisation for the CRR network.
- Support Services – ‘Service Delivery’ and ‘Systems and Advisory’.
- Information & Governance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leadership: Recruit and develop high performing IMT teams ensuring success through adequate policies, procedures and frameworks.
- Governance: Implement and enhance Information Management governance and compliance..
- Project Reputation: Safeguard information and technology infrastructure against cyber security threats and data breaches.
- Quality: Deliver secure, reliable and robust ICT network infrastructure ensuring maximum uptime and governed downtime.
- Program Management: Prioritise IMT projects based on strategic objectives and ensure appropriate technology, processes and support is in place at the Delivery Authority for the life of the project.
- Budget: Management of the IMT budget, and optimising technology investments to deliver value.
About You:
- Proven success and experience in senior and executive level IT leadership roles with oversight of diverse technology portfolios.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to work effectively with technically diverse teams and skillsets both as a manager and with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT project and program management skills with the ability to set strategic direction for an IT function.
- Proven ability to adopt and adapt to new and emerging information and digital engineering technologies and best practices.
