Are you an experienced and visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO)? Are you passionate about driving innovation and leveraging technology to achieve organisational goals? If so, Standards Australia seeks a dynamic and strategic CIO to join our team and lead our digital transformation initiatives. This newly created role joins a dynamic executive team reporting to the CEO.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You are a seasoned CIO with a solid set of skills and experience who will execute technology initiatives and ensure the alignment of IT strategies with a focus on cybersecurity, data management and the effective governance of technology.
You will lead strategic execution in the prime areas of responsibility, including accountability for developing and implementing the programs that deliver Standards Australia's strategy and objectives. You will also have extensive experience building, leading, developing and motivating high-performing, cohesive teams that deliver excellent outcomes.
You will possess the following attributes:
- Strategic Thinking: Planning and making long-term strategic thinking and day-to-day decisions within the framework of Standards Australia's strategic intent, competitive and operational environment.
- Communication: Have a highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including resolving problems, negotiating, and consulting with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Leadership and Management: Have significant experience in leading and managing people to optimise performance. Proven ability to provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing business solutions to achieve organisational outcomes.
- Planning for Change: Proven experience of leading change by creating an environment that encourages creative thinking while maintaining focus and resilience, especially under adversity.
- Customer Focused: Embody customer excellence and holds others accountable. Empower and influence others to prioritise customers and provides feedback and coaching when needed.
ABOUT YOU
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or 10 years’ experience in an appropriate discipline.
- Ideally, 5+ years' experience at the CIO level or a minimum of 10+ years in a senior IT leadership role, with a track record of strategic planning and execution, including data analytics initiatives.
- An expert understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, security, data analytics, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing IT teams and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, particularly in the context of data analytics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including data analytics professionals.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects, budgets, change management and vendor relationships, with a focus on data analytics solutions and tools.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and compliance standards related to IT, data management, and data analytics.
- Excellent strategic planning and financial management skills, along with an outstanding record of good governance.
