Chief Operations Manager

The Organisation

Bathurst Seymour Centre (BSC) is a not-for-profit organisation providing day support to seniors, carers and people living with disability.

Our clients reside in their own dwellings, live independently, or may be supported by informal and formal supports.

With a vision to make every day brighter, our organisation works hard to create an environment that protects the rights of people and supports their individual goals.

As a long-standing organisation in the Bathurst community, BSC has a positive reputation locally and within the Central West.

The Opportunity

Reporting to BSC's Board of Management (BOM), the Chief Operations Manager (COM) will lead the vision to execute, build and promote:

  • Strategic plan, drive awareness of the service, advocacy and action
  • Work with the Clinical Care Superviser to ensure that BSC continues to provide a quality service for the community
  • Services provided in a positive light and delivery of quality projects and outcomes
  • Grow, develop and sustain the organisation as it navigates the changing landscape of disability and aged care community services

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of the Department of Health and Aged Care sector, Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP),  Department of Social Services Data Exchange System (DEX), My Aged Care (MAC) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Collaborating with the BOM to secure sustainable funding for the future of BSC
  • Assurity all staff maintain a healthy work life balance by being connected within the team
  • Growing and developing our organisation
  • Leading staff to ensure a high performing culture that delivers an outstanding customer experience
  • Supporting positive outcomes for our clients and carers

The Person

BSC is seeking a proven leader who has experience in a leadership role.

You will have a track record of running a high performing business or organisation, driving strategic initiatives while nurturing a positive work culture.

Empowering staff and leading by example to provide a quality person-centered service.

You will have a focus on continuous improvement and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidates with the following skillset & experience are encouraged to apply:

  •  Relevant tertiary degree or qualification and/or relevant experience
  • Exceptional financial acumen
  • Ability to collaborate with the BOM to deliver on the immediate, short and long-term goals of the strategic plan
  • Strong leadership ability to engage staff to promote a high performing culture
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to review, maintain and develop new policy and procedure as necessary to facilitate efficient resource management and accountability
  • Subject matter expertise of current contexts, issues, and policy relevant to aged care in the community and people living with disability
  • Develop networks with other organisations to ensure best practice is being delivered
  • Promotes a culture of learning, research, and education
