Civil Engineer

Shamrock Civil Engineering is a reputable mid-tier civil construction contractor with well-established connections in the Civil Construction and Mining industries. We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer with 5+ years' experience.  You will be based and residing in Melbourne with a willingness to travel to other sites as required. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you can look forward to duties that include but are not limited to:

• Assist in estimating projects under the direction and supervision of the Estimator and Project Manager.
• Review project and contractual documentation on successful tenders.
• Price variations in a timely and accurate fashion as requested by the Project Manager.
• Prepare Construction Time Pathways (CTP's) for projects in conjunction with Construction Supervisor.
• Sending and receiving requests for Information (RFI's) from construction sites interpreting, documenting and forwarding to clients.  Follow up in a timely fashion.
• Assist in coordination of subcontractors to ensure works are carried out in a timely fashion and are of a high standard of workmanship.
• Ensure all project QA documentation is in place, including maintaining ITP's.
• Monitor quality and environmental issues and take appropriate action as directed..
• Maintain control and distribution of all drawings and documents in line with the requirements of the Quality Assurance System.
• Identify potential cost savings and efficiency gains and recommend solutions.
• Assist in project risk assessment to identify any constructability issues.
• Apply the risk management process, through leadership and mentoring of the project team.

You will be qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline with possession of an unrestricted drivers licence. You must have at least 5 years' experience in Civil Construction.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• A sound understanding of the construction industry including modern construction techniques.
• Engineering experience working on a mix of civil projects including, bulk earthworks and landfill.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as a team member
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• A good level of computer literacy including MS Word, Excel and Project.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project methodologies.
