Planned Resources are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join an northern council on a contracted basis. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for traffic documentation, investigating, planning, and implementing transportation systems and traffic management solutions to improve the flow of traffic and enhance safety for pedestrians and motorists.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct traffic studies, including traffic volume counts, intersection analysis, and capacity analysis.
- Develop and implement traffic signal timings and phasing plans.
- Investigate and respond to transport planning, engineering, parking, and road safety requests
- Prepare traffic impact assessments for new developments and infrastructure project to provide solutions that are safe.
- Analyze data and make recommendations for traffic flow improvements and safety enhancements.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to address transportation-related issues and develop comprehensive transportation plans.
- Provide technical expertise and support to transportation planning initiatives.
- Stay updated with the latest traffic engineering practices, guidelines, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in a Local Government environment
- Professional Engineering license is strongly desired.
- Proven experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
