Job Title: Civil Works Estimator

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Works Estimator to join our team. As a Civil Works Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by accurately estimating the costs involved in various civil engineering projects. Responsibilities:

1. Project Analysis: Conduct comprehensive reviews of project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope, materials, and labor requirements.
2. Cost Estimation: Utilize industry-standard methods and software to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including materials, equipment, labor, and overhead costs.
3. Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and review quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and other vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
4. Risk Assessment: Identify and analyze potential risks and uncertainties associated with each project, such as market fluctuations, regulatory requirements, and unforeseen site conditions, and incorporate risk factors into cost estimates.
5. Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities that optimize project costs without compromising quality or performance.
6. Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, project schedules, and other relevant documentation, to submit competitive bids for civil engineering projects.
7. Workplace and Client Communication: We are a collaborative team who function primarily on clear communication from all aspects of a project starting with our team. Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to address questions, clarify project requirements, and negotiate pricing and contract terms as needed.
8. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and cost-saving innovations in civil engineering and construction estimation techniques, and apply this knowledge to enhance our estimating processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Civil Works Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, WinEst, HCSS HeavyBid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
