The Qantas NSW Workers Compensation Team is growing as part of our recent awarding of a group Self Insurance Licence to now cover all companies that are part of the Qantas Group in NSW. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Workers CompensationClaims Officer to join our expanding team in New South Wales.

As a Claims Officer, you will play a crucial role in helping workers receive the treatment and support they need to return to work and health while ensuring compliance with Workers Compensation regulations. You will also provide guidance and expertise to business managers in supporting their employees returning to work. You will manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims in compliance with NSW regulations. Completing key compliance activities such as initial contacts, liability assessment, calculation of PIAWE, payment of weekly benefits. assessing liability for treatment and development of Injury Management Plans. Utilise your knowledge and skills in monitoring & influencing workers return to work requirements and conducting work capacity assessments and decisions.

To be successful you will possess:

  • Higher School certificate or equivalent
  • Workers Compensation Claims Management experience essential
  • Workers Compensation Self-Insurance experience preferable
  • Working knowledge of NSW legislative Workers Compensation framework & timeframes
  • Ability to manage complex Workers Compensation issues/procedures
  • Strong skills in management of barriers and strategies associated with injury and claims management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive and effective working relationships
  • Evidence of high-level attention to accuracy and detail
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information
