This role is responsible for leading a team of Recovery and Support Specialists to provide technical advice, guidance and support to the Claims team on return to work, rehabilitation support services, occupations, functional and case management matters, and assist in reaching desired claims durations and outcomes in line with the terms and conditions of the policy.
This will be achieved by ensuring strong Recovery and Support disciplines, management of external rehab provider relationships and ensuring capability development across the claims team.
The Manager, Claims Technical is also responsible for the resolution of escalated provider performance, whilst delivering outcomes that align with TAL’s claims philosophy, claims handling procedures and risk management framework.
A key focus of the role is to optimise assessment quality within the Income Protection, Life, Trauma and TPD portfolios and support Claims Consultants to build their capability in line with the TAL claims Recovery and Support frameworks. This includes development of health, recovery and return to work propositions, tools, guidelines or other resource to support the operational management of TAL’s rehabilitation offering.
