Role Overview: As the Client Care Coordinator (Domestic and Family Violence Specialist), you'll focus on crisis intervention to ensure women in crisis receive timely and appropriate service. This position provides the critical conduit to assessing, triaging, and actioning referrals into and within the service.

What You'll Do: You are responsible for intake, assessment, and triage services for Domestic and Family Violence and crisis response, including risk assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention, and brief therapeutic case management for women and children.

This role will support and encourage organisational standards and compliance, modelling professional workplace standards, and working positively and proactively with the Executive Director, Practice Manager, and the staff team.

In addition, you will work within the guidelines of the Practice Standards for Working with Women affected by Domestic and Family Violence and the Practice Standards for working with Men who are Perpetrators of Domestic and Family Violence.

Qualifications:

(Essential):

• Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related discipline, and registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with appropriate professional representative/governing body (i.e., AHPRA; AASW)

OR

• Diploma of Counselling with registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

• Applied knowledge of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.

• Driver's License.

• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.

• Current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.

(Desirable):

• A good understanding of trauma theory, to inform assessment and decision making.

• Sound understanding and knowledge of QLD Child Protection system and relevant legislation including the Child Protection Act 1999.
