Client Service Librarian

Randstad is currently taking applications for a Client Services Librarian. If you are seeking professional development within a great working environment, we want to hear from you.Full Time - Labour Hire - 11.5 Months - Professional Officer Class 1Duties of the role include:

• Provide basic reference and research for clients.
• Service desk duties, assisting clients with enquiries and the efficient use of library resources, and complete associated administration tasks such as returning and shelving books.
• Provide Client Services including document supply, cataloguing electronic and physical resources, collection maintenance and administrative tasks, and develop procedures on these tasks to promote consistent delivery of library services for clients.
• Provide support for library projects.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Key capabilities of the role include:

• Capacity to build partnerships, work positively and cooperatively and problem solve collaboratively in a team environment and effectively deal with operational and organisational change.
• Sound client liaison, written and verbal communications skills and the ability to set priorities for self, working independently as required, while monitoring Client Service activity progress, responding proactively to ensure Client Services are delivered within agreed time frames.
• Ability to investigate, interpret and evaluate information and apply critical and creative thinking to ensure projects and Client Services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
• Commitment to continuous operational process improvement and the capacity to positively participate in such improvements.
• Commitment to continuous skill development and the ability to acquire new skills, particularly in the exploitation and implementation of recent technology to deliver library resources and services.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

• Relevant Accredited degree in Library and Information Science recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience working professionally in a library.
