Follow defined service quality standards (NATA/ISO/TGA), occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality pre-analytical processing of clinical specimens for a Molecular Microbiology Laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to work conscientiously and accurately with minimal local supervision.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including laboratory manuals and basic maintenance procedures on laboratory equipment.
- A commitment to the maintenance of high professional standards and a demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
- Experience in a laboratory dealing with specimens for infectious disease, or molecular testing would be an advantage.
- The successful applicant will be required to participate in a roster including Saturdays and Sundays.
- Please detail any visa conditions you may have if you are not a permanent resident of Australia.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements
- It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis B.
