Exciting Leadership Opportunity for an Experienced ED Consultant!
About the Role: We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ED Consultant to take on a leadership role, overseeing a team of Emergency Medicine Specialists, CMOs, VMOs, and nursing professionals. In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, daily clinical supervision, and effective management of Emergency Department (ED) Services. Joining a small dedicated team of emergency specialists, your role will focus on delivering excellence in clinical care for every patient, promoting seamless continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient services.

With distinct seasons and renowned for bushwalking and national parks, the area transforms into a breathtaking display of autumn colors. Located midway between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway, this city provides abundant transport options between major cities. As an educational center, it features a university, public and private schools, and a regional conservatorium, ensuring a level of education comparable to any capital city in Australia.
About the Facility: This hospital, a 99-bed facility, caters to a referral community of almost 60,000. The busy ED handles approximately 18,000 presentations per year, with a 25% admission rate and 25% pediatric presentations. Staffed by dynamic CMOs fostering an active, stimulating, and supportive work environment, the hospital is spacious, modern, and well-equipped, with its most recent development opening in 2019.
Requirements: To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Hold or be eligible for registration with AHPRA
- Hold or be eligible for FACEM (Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine)
- Possess at least 12 months of recent experience in Emergency Medicine at a Consultant Level, ideally with Head of Department/Clinical Director experience
- IMGs who are about to lodge their Specialist Assessment Application with ACEM, awaiting their ACEM interview, or have been assessed by ACEM and found to be partially or substantially comparable.
