Position Profile: As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Nurse provides clinical and professional expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence based nursing care is delivered to patients. Facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care. The Clinical Nurse practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.
Area Profile: Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Perth's inner city, tertiary adult hospital and part of the Royal Perth Bentley Group. Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care.
The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) is one of the largest wards in Royal Perth Hospital, with a flexible bed profile of up to 50 patients. AMU specialises in managing a multitude of undifferentiated Medical patients from low to high acuity for up to 72 hours with a rapid discharge focus or transfer to longer stay wards if necessary.
