Fixed Term Temporary part-time, 64 hours p.f. up to 15.03.2026.
The Frailty Intervention Team (FIT) provides a holistic and collaborative approach to the clinical care of all frail older people within the Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department (ED), inpatient units and local residential aged care facilities (RACF). Through the early recognition of frailty and the provision of specialist intervention, FIT aims to reduce the risk of iatrogenic complications whilst advocating for patient choice.
Generous remuneration package value up to $123,494 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (Nurse grade 6 band 1)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Skills and experience:
- Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
- Ability to provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
- Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
Requirements
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- 6 month probation period.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
