Clinical Nurse Specialist – Cardiac Technician

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive catheterisation laboratory clinician who is ready to take the next step as a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Cardiac Technician. This is an advanced level Registered Nurse role, acting as a clinical and professional resource in all facets of caring for the patient whilst problem solving within the clinical setting. The Clinical Nurse Specialist contributes to, and participates in, the education of all graduates and novice staff by being involved in department orientation, in-service and clinical programs.
The flexibility to work a rotating roster including afternoon and evening shifts will be crucial to this role.
About the Role
The Cardiovascular Suite / Catheterisation Laboratory at Greenslopes Private Hospital provides diagnostic and interventional cardiac and electrophysiology services across 3 Cath Labs and a Hybrid operating theatre and is one of the largest private surgical departments in Queensland.
The recently completed $72 million expansion and re-development project increased the total number of operating theatres to 22, with three new theatres built. There will also be room allocated for a fourth OT feature to be constructed in the future.
Utilising the latest advancements in Health technology, such as 18 Endosuites, Cardiac/Thoracic specific theatres, new state of the art Obstetrics Theatre, Neurosurgery Suite with Intra-Operative CT Scanner, the Da Vinci robotic surgical system, Mazor Spinal robot and multiple brand new theatre facilities, the Greenslopes Private Hospital Theatre team operates on the cutting-edge of technology.
About You
You will bring extensive clinical skills and experience within a Cardiac Catheterisation or Cardiac Electrophysiology environment. While leadership or management experience within a clinical setting will be highly desirable, this role will also suit an experienced Nurse looking to step up.
Essential:
- Minimum three (5) years post-grad clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab environment
- Completion of a recognised Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Electrophysiology or higher tertiary qualification
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Passionate mentor with the ability to lead and support our team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to act as a positive role model and as a professional at all times
- Postgraduate qualification(s) in a relevant perioperative speciality (highly regarded)
