About the role
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for clinical mental health practice at an advanced level. This role supports the delivery of services in the areas of assessment, intervention, treatment planning and evaluation for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs within a community mental health setting.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing, planning, coordination and reviewing of a comprehensive plan of nursing care in a complex scenario.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of contemporary psychiatric nursing theory and practice with the ability to apply that knowledge to a mental health setting.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge and the ability to utilise the principles of best practice, research, legislation and current trends in mental health service delivery and to contribute to the professional practice in the Mental Health Service.
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of relevant applications, including:
- Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application (CIMHA);
- Riskman;
- Hospital Base Client Information System (HBCIS); and
- Emergency Department Information System (EDIS).
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 (PDF)
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
