We are seeking a CNC Applications Engineer with CAD/CAM software experience within vertical, horizontal and multiaxis CNC milling machines and multiaxis turning centers.
You’ll have experience in terms of set-up and operation of this technology.
Preferably an Applications Engineer with experience in key OEMs such as Fanuc, Makino, Nakamura-Tome, Hyundai, Breton, Lagun and Geminis and other CNC platforms.
This role is available in New South Wales or Victoria, and will provide application support for our client base through working with the OEM and sales team to provide appropriate solutions and feasibility studies.
Commitment to continual learning and development, local travel, as well as a willingness to provide superior client experience are essential attributes for the right candidate.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a genuine commitment to a high-level of customer service.
- Use of CAD/CAM software and strong CNC technology knowledge to support our client base and suggest appropriate solutions for our clients, working closely with our sales teams and OEMs.
- A willingness to expand application support skills across the Headland product range.
- A willingness to travel to customer sites across Australia if required.
- Build and maintain positive service relationships with Headland clients, OEMs and sales teams to ensure superior client experience.
Skills and experience
- Experienced with Jig and fixture CAD design on Solidworks or a similar package.
- Proficient on 3 axis and 5 axis CAM programming on Mastercam or a similar software.
- Writing conversational programs on CNC controllers for 3 axis and multiaxis milling machines and twin spindle twin turret turning centers.
- Good knowledge of cutting tool applications and thorough understanding of machining concepts.
- Reading and understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge about inspection, quality control and probing on the CNC machines.
- Worked within industries; die-mould, automotive, aerospace, machine tool or biomedical.
- Excellent presentation skills for delivery of training on client sites.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Safe working and machine tool operational practices.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
