About the business
Verriers Engineering is a long established small business providing machining services to a wide range of industries including Mining, Rail, Oil & Gas, Automotive and Materials Handling. We are seeking a suitably qualified candidate to be part of a small, close knit team of machinists in a modern, well equipped workshop.
About the role
This is a full time position in a clean, modern workshop with a wide variety of interesting work and opportunities for further training and growth. We are constantly investing in new machinery, equipment and tooling to provide exceptional service to our clients and job satisfaction to our team. The ideal candidate will have the drive to provide feedback and make continuous improvements to keep at the forefront of modern methods.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Program, Set and Operate CNC Machines
- Provide feedback on opportunities for improvement
- Tool Selection
- Train and mentor Apprentices
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Skills and experience
- Trade Qualified (Skilled apprentices considered)
- High level understanding of GD&T
- Experience with Y axis Lathe or 8 axis lathe (preferred)
- Understanding of ISO G-code programs
- Good communication skills
- Able to work both unsupervised and as part of a small team
- Able to determine the best manufacture process
