Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fitter/Machinist with specialised expertise in the gasket and sealing industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth manufacturing expertise in gaskets and sealing products, along with specific knowledge of Flexitallic products, and demonstrate proficiency in manufacturing processes such as spiral wound gaskets, kammprofile, and metal-clad gaskets.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
o Demonstrate experience in gasket manufacturing to perform metal fitting and machining tasks with precision within the gasket and sealing industry.
o Proven proficiency in operating grooving machines, to achieve high-quality kammprofile gasket consistently.
o Operating CNC, manual milling machine and plasma cutting machines with confidence.
Training/Qualifications/Experience:
Training:
o Formal training or apprenticeship in metal fitting, machining, or a related field.
o Specialised training in gasket and sealing technologies is preferred.
o Training in operating specific machinery relevant to gasket manufacturing, such as lathe, grooving and plasma cutting machines is essential.
o Proficiency in welding techniques, especially with exotic metals, through relevant training programs is vital.
Qualifications:
o Certificate or diploma in mechanical engineering, machining, or a related field.
o Any additional certifications or qualifications related to gasket manufacturing, sealing technology, or machinery operation would be advantageous.
o Minimum of 5 years experience in the gasket manufacturing industry.
Experience:
o Manufacturing high-quality sealing products, including spiral wound gaskets, Kammprofile, and metal-clad gaskets.
o Experience in applying engineering principles to operate various gasket machines efficiently to ensure maximum performance and productivity.
o Strong welding skills, particularly with exotic materials, to produce durable and reliable sealing solutions.
o Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of AutoCAD and CNC programming, to facilitate precise machining and fabrication processes.
Candidates with a combination of relevant training, qualifications, and hands-on experience in gasket manufacturing, machining, and sealing technology, along with proficiency in operating specialised machinery and software, would be well-suited for the Metal Fitter/Machinist role at Flexitallic Australia.
