Who are we?
Code Camp is Australia’s leading specialist school holiday and after-school program provider! We’ve taught over 100,000 kids to use technology in fun and engaging ways, and employ 1000 casual staff to help us. Our staff work hard and love the collaborative effort of creating unique and engaging learning experiences for kids. We are looking for fun and energetic casual staff to teach at our holiday camps.
Is this you?
- Studying or have studied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a similar related field
- A lifelong learner with a willingness to learn and teach creative technology skills and content
- Confidence and ability to communicate with children
- Trustworthy, punctual and reliable
- Available for work Tuesday afternoons till April (potential for ongoing work)
Required Skills:
Candidates should have some or all of the following qualities:
- Tech savvy/ICT skills
- Ability to familiarise themselves with lesson content and assist children with individual issues throughout class, including utlilising problem-solving skills and communicating with our IT support team where needed
- Enjoy working with kids and have a vibrant and enthusiastic can-do attitude
- Mature outlook and common sense
- Work well in a team environment
- Be able to take initiative
- Fluent conversational English
- Ability to facilitate activities to meet the needs and interests of children aged 7 to 13. Prior experience with children in paid or volunteer roles is highly desirable (please write a cover letter note to mention any experience you have that may not be officially listed on your resume)
- Ability to communicate for positive outcomes with children and other educators
- Ability to encourage positive behaviour in children
- Capacity to identify and take action to manage risk and ensure active supervision of children inside and outside the classroom
What will you teach?
Using our custom made 'Code Camp World', children will learn how to code various game challenges each week (beginner drag and drop coding)
