Commercial Construction Estimator

Joss Construction continues to experience significant growth with multiple project opportunities to be tendered. To support this, Joss is seeking the appointment of a full time Estimator to join our dynamic Albury team. 

Joss is a family owed business that has been operating for 49 years, and is highly regarded within the regional construction industry. 

The successful applicant will perform a variety of duties throughout the estimating process including receiving and reviewing tenders, cost plan development & management through design development, and coordination with the submission team to deliver final tender costs that fully comply with each project’s RFT documentation. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Working on multiple tenders 
• Attending tender briefings
• Interpretation and understanding of tender documents to capture all elements of the project to be priced, identify risk & opportunities, and identify Value Management propositions
• Communicating and working closely with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Contributing to the development of the Tender Program and Methodology
• Development of pricing for various sectors of the industry from first principles
• Supporting the project teams in providing cost management and trade letting services; and
• Assist in developing submission documentation.

You will have an organised, analytical approach, be reliable and a results-driven professional, with attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Ideally, you will also bring:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Australia, estimating Commercial Construction projects
• Tertiary education in the Construction industry, with either a bachelor’s degree or trade background
• Experience in estimating software, such as Bar Tender, Cubit, Buildsoft 
• Experience in the Microsoft suite of programs, particularly Excel
• Experience in the use of Estimate One online platform
• Construction Contracts knowledge
• Experience in the local and regional construction industry.
